Dr. Steve Morgan

Dr. Steve Morgan - Senior Pastor

Steve is the Senior Pastor and has been serving Saint Mark since June of 2001. He entered the ministry of the United Methodist Church in 1974 and is an ordained elder in the South Carolina Conference. His appointments in South Carolina have included churches in Newberry, Greeleyville, Gaffney, Spartanburg, Lancaster, and Florence. He also served as Assistant Pastor of the Glasgow Cathedral in Glasgow, Scotland. He has a B.A. from Wofford College, a Master of Divinity from Duke DivinitySchool, and a Doctor of Ministry from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology. He and his wife, Phyllis, have three sons.

Rev. Jeff Childress

Rev. Jeff Childress - Minister of Congregational Care

Jeff came to Saint Mark in June of 2004. He worked in the machine tool distribution business for eighteen years before serving as Pastor of Salem United Methodist Church. He has a B.S. degree in Administrative Management from Clemson University, a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Counseling Ministry from Erskine Theological Seminary. As Minister of Congregational Care, his job involves pastoral care such as hospital, home, and nursing home visits. Besides preaching, he does pastoral counseling and handles visitor and new member relations. Hewas commissioned as a ProbationaryDeacon in the United Methodist Church at the 2005 South Carolina Annual Conference, and will be ordained in full connection in June of 2008. He and his wife, Delaine, have a son and a daughter.

Sam Sink

Sam Sink - Pastor Emeritus

Sam served churches in Morgantown, Kanes Creek, Albans, Wheeling, Bluefield, and Charleston, West Virginia over a period of 40 years. He served as Superintendent of the Charleston District from 1973-1976 and President of the United Methodist Charities of West Virginia from 1982-1991. Sam retired from the West Virginia Annual Conference before joining Saint Mark UMC in 1991. He worked as a part time Associate until 1999 and now serves as Pastor Emeritus. After serving with the U. S. Army Air Corps from 1944-1946, Sam attended Asbury College where he received a B.S. degree in 1949. Sam’s graduate degrees include a Masters of Divinity from Wesley School of Theology in Washington, D.C. (1956), a Master of Arts degree from West Virginia University (1968), and a Doctor of Divinity degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College (1968). Sam teaches occasional Bible study classes and routinely contributes to the monthly Laity Lantern newsletter. Sam and Pat, his wife of 55 years, live in Seneca and daughter Rebecca lives in Salem. Sam and Pat have three other children and six grandchildren.

Marla Fuller

Marla Fuller - Minister of Spiritual Formation and Discipleship

Marla came to Saint Mark in 2005.  She received a Masters Degree in Music Therapy from Florida State University in 1976, working in the field of mental health for seventeen years. In 2000, she received a Master Degree in Theology (with concentration on spirituality and spiritual direction) from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California.  She is a trained spiritual director.  Her duties at Saint Mark include anything related to growing in faith and becoming a devoted disciple of Christ.  She plans spiritual formation classes/programs/events, and is a resource to the adult Sunday School classes.  She is also responsible for helping individuals “plug in” to Saint Mark through the Saints in Service volunteer ministry.  She is the daughter and sister of a United Methodist pastors and is married to Marvin who retired from the textile business.

David Wilcox

David Wilcox - Minister of Music

David comes to Saint Mark with more than thirty years of music ministry experience in both the Methodist and Presbyterian churches. He has music degrees from BrevardCollege (Associate of Arts), QueensCollege (Bachelors)and BobJonesUniversity (Masters). He has skills in leading worship, keyboard improvisation, choral conducting and administration. He has been taught as adjunct music faculty at ErskineCollege and AndersonUniversity. He is also the conductor of the Boychoir of the Greater Anderson Musical Arts Consortium and The Key Koraliers. David's vision for his role in church ministry might be summed up in his own statement, "The result of true authentic corporate worship is that God is pleased and His people are changed." David has three adult children, Jonathan, Ian and Darby a grandson Lockaby and a granddaughter Kathryn, born 2/2/10.

Donna Poston

Donna Poston - Director of Youth and Children’s Ministries

With a Masters Degree in Elementary Education, Donna came to Saint Mark in July of 2003 after having taught first grade for 29 years. She directs all youth activities, the Wings for the Lord youth choir, the Cross Club Wednesday night children's ministry and special events for children.  Her goal is to create ways to celebrate God's grace and witness for Jesus Christ through Bible study, worship, missions, fellowship,and christian love. Donna and husband, Russ, have a son and daughter and grandson.

Lisi Campbell – Director of Preschool and Children’s Educational Ministries

Lisi is the Director of Preschool and Children’s Educational Ministries. She is a graduate of Clemson University and has a passion for working with children and youth. She, with the help of the Educational Ministry team, coordinates the Children’s Sunday School Rotation, Preschool Sunday School classes, and the Nursery. She also is in charge of Sonshine Club for preschool age children on Wednesday nights. Lisi enjoys teaching the children about the teachings of the Bible, the love of Jesus and how they can share that love with others. It is such a joy to be able to see the children grow in their faith.

Carolynne Nix - Child Development Center Director

Born in Buffalo, NY but raised locally. I am a 1993 high school graduate Qf Walhalla High. I attended Winthrop University tor two years,and later went back to school obtaining my Early Childhood degree from Tri County Technical College in 2001. I have been married to my husband Brian for almost 15 years and we have two beautifu1 girls together ages 10 and 7. I also am privileged with two stepsons age 17. I have Worked closely with the St. Mark family since my employment began in 2004. I have dedicated my time to working with children and enjoy coaching with the Recreational Department as leisure. My family and I are very involved with softball and we enjoy participating and being spectators of many different sports and levels for our children to be exposed for their futures. We attend our family church in Westminster which was founded by my husband"s great grandfather. I am honored to be part of a family that takes a great seriousness in being involved in church and family. I hope to portray some of these values that have been instilled in me in my duties as Director of St. Mark CDC. I have been given great responsibility and honor to be here and I take it quite seriously.

Faye Monk

Faye Monk - Operations Manager

Faye Monk began working at Saint Mark in 1987 and has held several administrative jobs.  Her job as Operations Manager consists of building and janitorial management, accounting and financial member contribution control, computer system administrator, and wedding coordinator.  Prior to working at Saint Mark, she was a Family and Children’s Service case worker, and worked in a variety of jobs in private industry.  She has a BS from Auburn University  and studied accounting at LaGrange College. Faye is married to Dan Monk and they have three children.  She says, “It is important to understand the vision of the church and embrace it wholeheartedly.  Possessing the qualities of trust, honesty, and integrity are a must.”

Sybil Sevic

Sybil Sevic - Church Hostess

Having retired from public education after 30 years, Sybil came on board the Saint Mark staff in 2004 as Church Hostess.  She is married to Jim Sevic and they have 2 children.   A member of Saint Mark for 33 years, Sybil decided to direct her energies toward nurturing the wonderful hospitality of Saint Mark.  Her job as Church Hostess allows her to help plan and carry out the Wednesday Night Church Family Night dinners and programs.   She also serves as liaison between church committees, members, staff, and outside groups in the planning, food preparation and serving of special events and meals.   Sybil views her job as a way to serve the church in a capacity that matches her abilities and spiritual gifts.  It’s also a way for her to give back a little of what the church has given her and her family.

Donna Jaynes

Donna Jaynes - Kitchen Manager

Donna came to Saint Mark in 2001 after serving as a public school lunchroom supervisor. Besides preparing the Church Family Night meals every Wednesday, Donna works cooperatively with other groups to plan and carry out meal service for other events.   She also serves as Church Sexton.   Donna’s hard work and helpful attitude make her a positive addition to the Saint Mark Staff.

Karen Holcombe - Administrative Assistant

As Administrative Assistant for Saint Mark UMC since April 2007, Karen welcomes church members and visitors and provides administrative support services for the Saint Mark staff and church family.  She is a graduate of Tri-County Technical College with an Associate Degree in Accounting.  Previously, Karen worked at Salem UMC in Greenville as secretary/bookkeeper as well as working as a corporate accountant for Insignia Financial Group.  She continues to work with her husband, Joe, in their insurance agency and is an active member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Easley.   In Karen’s own words, “ I feel that as an Administrative Assistant of a church you need to make people feel important and not an interruption to your day.”

Ronnie Little - Part Time Custodian

Ronnie began his second employment at Saint Mark in 2008 and is an upstate native.  He is a vital part of keeping our facilities clean and attractive.
