There are two ways to join a United Methodist Church:
- By Profession of Faith for those who are not members of another church, and
- By transfer of membership from another church. In transfers from other denominations, we recognize both baptism and membership in other churches.
In the spring and fall of each year, we offer a Membership Orientation Class for new and prospective members. Those who attend the class will learn about Methodism and our faith and about our many and varied ministry and will begin to get to know others who are members (and prospective members) of this faith communtiy. This class usually runs for about eight (8) consecutive weeks, meeting once a week.
The class is not "required." However, it seems to be an essential ingredient in accomplishing our goal of creating that sense of belonging that is "community."
For those who want to join our nurturing and growing Saint Mark family, the pastoral staff will arrange a personal visit with each person, couple, or family to discuss their membership desires and questions.
