Marvin's Kids

Have you ever felt like your idea could not make much difference? It is a blessing that Marvin Cely did not feel that way years ago when he saw a need! When he saw a family of children that needed clothes, shoes and a warm coat when it got cold, he asked his Sunday School class at Saint Mark if they would help. Out of that seed of hope and caring, a whole program of helping children was born.
Marvin's Kids accepts children based on elementary school counselor's recommendations. This year we will be serving 48 families, and 141 children in Oconee County. Each child is fitted with a new pair of shoes, an outfit of clothing, and a coat. Messages are also sent to Santa naming wishes for those special Christmas gifts. Many helpers shop with families, assist Santa with purchases/delivery, and much more! If you are interested in getting involved, there is a place for you! Please contact the church office 882-2603 for more information.
