Notice of Job Openings
The Saint Mark Staff Parish Relations Committee gives formal notice of two
full-time job openings as follows:
Operations Manager
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILIES include handling all church and child development center financial matters (contributions, payroll, banking, accounts payable, tax documents, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, etc), using proper accounting
procedures, overseeing building and materials usage, plus performing other related duties as necessary or helpful.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Appropriate and thorough accounting experience and skills, along with a working knowledge of computer programs: ACS on Demand, Excel, Publisher, Word
Director of Children’s Ministries
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES include developing a comprehensive children’s ministry, including Sunday School and Wednesday evening classes, activities,
and programs, plus summer and seasonal events that combine to make a solid program of ministry for young families and children.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Related training and experience in the field of Christian education

Wings for the Lord Annual Yard Sale
Friday, February 4
Wings for the Lord Youth Choir will have its HUGE annual yard sale on Saturday, February 4, in the Saint Mark Center from 7:00 am to noon. We will begin taking donated items on Monday, January 30. Support the Annual Boy Scout Troop 226
BBQ Fundraiser
The Scouts in BSA Troop 226 invite you, your family and friends to their BBQ lunch fundraiser on Sunday, February 5, 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Included in the $8.00 meal are a BBQ sandwich, baked beans, coleslaw, brownie and tea.
After lunch, the Scouts will collect the boxes of canned goods located in both entrances of the Atrium. Until then, please keep bringing canned goods for distribution to local charities.
The Saint Mark church family supports this Troop.
Become a Story Time Reader
Our Saint Mark Library book shelves have been stocked with a great selection of books and DVD's for children. With our Kids' Korner up and running, we want to invite you to plug into the ministry of Saint Mark by coming on Wednesday or Thursday mornings at 10 am to ready to the 3 or 4 year old children in our Child Development Center. Story time for the 3 year oldswill be on Wednesdays at 10 and for the 4 year olds on Thursdays at 10. Sign up for one or more session with these precious children of God by signing up on the library door, or by contacting Carolynne Nix, the director of our CDC. Good News Class Moving to New Classroom
Because of the numbers attending the Good News Sunday School Class on Sunday mornings at 10:15 am, beginning this Sunday, January 22, the class is moving to a larger room, combining with the Outreach Class in Room A201 (upstairs in the atrium). For Children Grades 1-6
We are ready to re-launch our elementary "In His Steps" movement program for grades 1-6. If you have a child who would be interested in this ministry opportunity please contact John Evatt at the Church office (864) 882-2603 or click here to send him an email. We will find out once the group is formed when would be the best time for them to meet. CJ Smith will be leading this group. We are very excited about the possibilities.
Clemson Area Congregations in Touch (CACIT) 2012 Lay Academy,
7 PM, January 26 and February 2 and 9
Acceptance in an Intolerant World: Embracing the Charter for Compassion will be presented by Clemson Area Congregations in Touch with wide support from community, university and religious groups. Each session will offer guided discussions on aspects of The Charter for Compassion (http://charterforcompassion.org), a document that transcends religious, ideological, and national differences. Supported by leading thinkers from many traditions, the Charter activates the Golden Rule around the world. Discussions will focus on Understanding Compassion (Jan 26), Challenges to Compassion (Feb 2), and Intentional Compassion (Feb 9).

Children's Sunday School Schedule for January
Parents, please bring your children to the Cinema Classroom (2nd floor of the atrium, Room A208) at 10:15 am for Sunday School. Teachers will take the kids from Cinema to their respective classes and then return them to the Cinema Room at the end of Sunday School (at about 11 am) where parents may pick them up.
PLEASE NOTE: 6th graders will meet in their own classroom on the first floor of the atrium, next to the ladies' restroom - on the hallway toward the Youth Center.

Sound Technician for Celebration Service
The Celebration Service sound team is looking to fill a vacancy. What is needed is someone who can commit to at least one time a month to handle the sound for the Celebration Service in the Saint Mark Center. You do not need any prior experience, the only requirement is that you be able to breathe and be able to carry some equipment short distances. We will take care of all needed training.
