On Sunday May 13th, eleven of Saint Mark's young people culminated a year of preparation and were Confirmed into the church family. In his remarks Pastor Steve stressed that this rite of passage was a tradition practiced across many cultures. At Saint Mark this tradition demonstrates our surrounding with love, showing we care and sharing the story of Jesus. Steve encouraged them to think of this as a time when they would be deciding what kind of a person they would be as they journey through future milestones in their life. He stressed that Confirmation is a spiritual act of accepting responsibility and stepping into the place of those that have gone before. Congratulations to all of our Confirmands.

Youth Sunday

Saint Mark's Youth did their usual excellent job on Sunday, September 25th in displaying their talent, their spirituality, and the wide range of youth activities that exist at Saint Mark. Wings opened the service with Light the Fire followed by Sanctuary and Seek Ye First. In His Eyes performed Shine Jesus Shine, which you can see in the video below. Matthew Sanders read the scripture.

Leslie Lamson-Scribner offered the Prayer. Emma Baldwin accompanied the Offertory with As the Deer.  In the video you will also see Wings perform You Can't Wait, the Pep for Youth portrayal of Mark Chapter 5, Jesus Raises Jarius' Daughter, entitled Right On Time. The video concludes with Wings singing God's Best is Yet to Come.
