CDC News

To our Parents: This page will be an important way of getting you information about CDC events or closings and for you to be able to ask us for information. We hope that this will be a valuable resource, so please check this page often. At the bottom of the page is a contact form to send me a message directly.

The CDC now has a Facebook page set up. This will be a great tool for potential new families moving onto our area to find out about us. This will also be another way to get messages from the center concerning upcoming events, closings, etc.

Please take note of the schedule for the school age children which is attached to this website. Contact the center if you have any questions.

End of  the year statements will be sent out by January 31st. If your account is not current, you will not receive a 2011 statement until it is. Please contact the CDC office if you any questions about your account.

THE CDC IS ACCEPTING DONATIONS FOR WIPES, KLEENEX, CLOROX WIPES, PAPER TOWELS, CRAYONS, MARKERS, USED TOYS IN GOOD CONDITION. ALL DONATIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED AND DEFINITELY WELL USED. YOU MAY DROP THEM OFF IN THE CDC OFFICE ANY TIME.

He will be a great help to our staff by doing this very important job that helps our teachers be able to focus much more time on the children. WELCOME Grady!!!!!

February 1st is an Early Release day for public school. The children will be dismissed at 1:00 and we will pick them up at their schools.

There will be no public school february 24 and 27. Please check out the website on the Summer program for listings of activities.

THE CDC WILL BE CLOSED ON MONDAY, JANUARY 16TH FOR MARTIN LUTHER KING HOLIDAY. Regular schedule will resume on 1/17. All scheduled closings for 2012 are listed in the parent handbook that was handed out in the month of December. If you did not receive your copy or have lost it, please let your teacher know and we will get you another copy.

Please make sure your child has  a coat for the winter. The children will still try to get outside and need to be dressed for the weather.

Children must have an extra change of clothes here at the center. We have been blessed with donations of clothes in the past to use for back up, but our supply is now depleted. If your child has had to borrow CDC clothes, please make sure to wash them and return them to your child's teacher. If you would like to donate some old clothes for our back up supply, we would happily take them off your hands.

The best way to help would of course be to  make sure that your child has at least one change of clothes here at all times. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Please note that we are trying to help everyone stay as healthy as possible. If you notice your child running a fever or feeling really run down, it is advised that you keep them out the next day. If your child runs a fever of 100.00, we will  have to send them home. THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COME BACK UNTIL THEY HAVE BEEN FEVER FREE FOR 24 HOURS WITHOUT THE HELP OF MEDICINE! IF WE HAVE TO SEND YOUR CHILD HOME FOR VOMITING OR DIARRHEA, WE WILL ALSO BE ASKING THAT THEY STAY HOME FOR AT LEAST 24 HOURS SO THAT WE CAN ENSURE THAT WE ARE NOT SPREADING GERMS TO OTHER CHILDREN OR STAFF MEMBERS.

PLEASE DO NOT PUT MEDICINE IN SIPPIE CUPS AND BOTTLES. IF IT GOT IN THE WRONG HANDS, IT COULD HURT ANOTHER CHILD.

Please all parents help us out by labeling your child's items. We  have a hard time distinguishing items if we do not have a name on them. This will also help to keep kids from putting cups ans things in their mouths that are not theirs. Along with this it is a DSS requirement , so thank you again for your help in this matter!!
