The United Methodist Women (UMW) primary function is missions with emphasis on women and children on both a local and global scale.  We are part of the organization of United Methodist Women under the Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church whose purpose is set by the General Conference of The United Methodist Church.

The organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose porpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

A major benefit of the UMW is the fellowship and support of a community of caring women at St. Mark who make up this group.  There are six Circles that meet on the first Monday of each month at different times of the day and evening, to accomodate schedules for both working and retired people.  These groups meet in members' homes or at the church.  The UMW also provides bereavement meals to church family members.

All women over the age of 18 who are members of a United Methodist Church are members of the United Methodist Women. However, many of you are not active and we would like to invite you to get to know us better by attending one or all of our meetings. Our meetings are open to all women at Saint Mark, with refreshments, time to visit, and speakers to teach us about some of the missions we support with our projects and gifts and important issues concerning women and children.

A scrapbook of our activities is here.
