Sunday School

New Adult Sunday School Class

The newly formed Good News Sunday School Class will meet at 10:15 am in the church conference room on Sundays, beginning Sunday, January 8, for an in depth study of the New Testament book of James.

James is short (5 chapters) and very practical. James recognizes that everybody encounters problems in life. The author doesn't tell us how to live a trouble-free life, but rather, how to live when troubles hit. He says that it's not enough to "talk" the Christian faith, we must "live it".

The focus of the class will be on how God is speaking to each one through the Scripture on a personal level. In other words, reading is not just for information, but for the purpose of "formation" or transformation. Participants will gain the most from this study by reading short passages of James and answering a few questions in the Study Guide during the week. Discussion of the Scripture and the questions will be led by a facilitator during the class time.

This class welcomes anyone interested in studying the Bible and no prior experience in Bible study is necessary. Study Guides will be available beginning the day of the first session. All ages are invited, married or single. Contact Dottie Carbee at 944-5088 or click here to email her for more information or to express your interest in attending the class to make sure there are enough study guides.
