Long Term Studies
DISCIPLE I: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study is a 34-week study, giving equal time to both the Old and New Testament, emphasizing the wholeness of the Bible as the revelation of God. DISCIPLE I uses biblical language and images and draws upon the work of scholars to aid understanding of the Bible. Participants read portions of Scripture each day, moving through the biblical story Creation to the New Jerusalem. This group is led by Jane Street and meets from 1:30 – 3:30 pm on Tuesday afternoons
DISCIPLE II – Into the Word – Into the World is a 32-week study of Genesis, Exodus, Luke, and Acts. The study emphasizes the rhythm of coming to God and going for God, of being in the Word and in the world individually and corporately, considering themes such as pride, hospitality, patience and humility. DISCIPLE I is a prerequisite for this study. The group is led by Betsy Smith and meets from 6:15 – 8:30 on Wednesday evenings.
Companions in Christ is a 28-week small group experience in Spiritual Formation. The experience explores the spiritual journey into wholeness and holiness through a deepening relationship with God. The intent is to come to discover one’s purpose and call. Through the study, participants deepen their experiences of God, explore the fullness of life in Christ through spiritual practices, and receive the grace and guidance of the Spirit in the context of community. The group is led by Lynn Dobson and meets from 4:15 – 6:15 on Sunday afternoons.
